Magazine Cover

Magazine / Print Design

1- Created for Mursal magazine at The Killid Group, this cover addresses the right to access information through a simple visual metaphor: files bound with chains and secured by a padlock. I used familiar office objects to make an abstract issue tangible, showing information that exists but remains out of reach. The dark background and isolated illustration focus attention on the barriers between people and the information they have a right to access.

2- Created for Mursal magazine, this cover examines women’s exclusion from peace negotiations in Afghanistan. I illustrated men dancing in a closed circle around a dove, with barbed wire separating them from the women standing outside. The composition turns exclusion into a visible boundary and places the symbol of peace at the centre of a contradiction: a process concerned with the country’s future that leaves women outside the discussion.

3- To celebrate the thirteenth anniversary of Mursal, a magazine focused primarily on women in Afghanistan, I transformed the Persian numerals ۱۳ into a dimensional bookshelf filled with previous issues. The anniversary number becomes a structure that physically holds the publication’s history. Drawing on Mursal’s signature pink, the design brings typography and editorial archives together to celebrate thirteen years of stories, continuity, and publishing.
